About Rowena

Award-winning Australian artist based in Mount Isa, Queensland.

I am deeply insired by the rugged beauty of the outback. Working in traditional mediums like oils, watercolour, pastels and graphite, I strive to capture the vibrant spitit of this land, the essence of it’s characters, the flora and fauna of the Australia outback.

Growing up on remote cattle stations in Northwest Queensland and the Northern Territory, my childhood was shaped by the vast landscape I called home. I spent much of my early years on horseback, immeresed in a life that wasn’t just scenery - it became a part of who I am. Red dirt runs in my veins.

The landscapes I paint are real: the dusty tracks I’ve ridden, the rolling hills I’ve hiked and the endless horizons that stretched before me under the blazing sun. Each canvas a tribute to this land, the people and the memories that connect us.

My art isn’t about following trends or chasing alogorithms. It’s about honesty, I paint what is real. A moment suspended in time, inviting you to pause - breath and reconnect with this land, with family and with the timeless heritage of Australia.
